Overview

Drawing from the human form is one of the most important ways you can improve as an artist, helping you to develop sharper observational skills and accurately transferring form, emotion and gesture onto the page.

This practical course will enable you to build your life drawing skills through the use of a life model. Throughout the six weeks you will study the human form and develop drawings using a range of techniques.

Aims of the course

The course is designed to introduce you to the skills and techniques needed to confidently create observational drawings. It will be delivered through a mixture practical exercises, tutor demonstrations and individual projects. We will provide you with opportunities that will allow you to explore and develop your skills.

Unit Breakdown

The course includes:

Contour with pencil

Weight and Modelling with charcoal

Gesture drawing with charcoal and pencil

Weight and Modelling with brush and tone

Assessment Method

You will received tutorials and will be assessed by the tutor.

This is a beginner's course in Life drawing, you should have an interest in the area but no previous experience is needed.
