The Diploma for Legal Secretaries is the perfect course for you if you want to strengthen your knowledge and skills in core aspects to the industry. As a student on the programme, you will learn about Business skills in the Legal Environment ? this examines all of the administration aspects of a legal office.
You will also gain the necessary skills to produce legal documents ? this is tested by both a Legal Text Processing and Legal Audio skills unit through which you will develop your typing skills and ability to text produce accurate legal documents.
You will also learn English Proofreading skills in the Legal Environment which will develop punctuation, sentence construction and spelling skills.
You will also learn the core aspects of Law within the Legal Studies unit and undertake a Work Experience unit using the skills developed on the course in a working legal environment.
The course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, a respected training provider within the Legal Secretary field. This course is valued by prospective Employers in the industry.

Assessment is via a combination of two external exams, one paper based and the other is an online test. You will also complete two in-house exams and a range of internally marked assignments.
Upon successful completion of this course, your skills will be well-suited to jobs in the legal secretarial and administrative fields. You will also be able to use the course as a gateway to university as the course carries UCAS points. Also, you will be able to study for a Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice, or a Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice.
You will be a fully qualified Legal Secretary and will be able to work within a Legal Firm, Legal Chambers and Court Administration Environment. You will also be able to study further via the Cilex route to eventually become a Chartered Legal Executive. A further option is progression to university using the UCAS points.
