If you are aiming to become a tiler in the construction or decoration industries, this course will help you progress towards your goal. You will gain the practical skills and knowledge needed to perform basic to intermediate level tiling tasks, including how to prepare backgrounds for tiling, set out and tile floor surfaces and wall surfaces, and how to form sand and cement screeds. Specific units you will study include: Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction and Associated Industries; Understanding Information, Quantities and Communication with others; and Understanding Construction Technology.

The learner will cover knowledge in three core subject areas:
- Health, safety and welfare
- Information, quantities and communication
- Construction technology.
The Learner will also learn key practical skills and knowledge in:
- Form sand and cement screeds
- Prepare backgrounds for tiling
- Set out and tile floor surfaces
- Set out and tile wall surfaces
Synoptic practical assessments and multiple online exams.
This study programme will give you the opportunity to progress into employment in the construction or decoration industry as a tiler.
Progression to an apprenticeship.

For example: Bricklayers start on around £17,000 a year and can earn £27,000 with 3-5 years' experience Plumbers start on around £18,000 a year and can earn £30,000 with 3-5 years' experience Construction supervisors start on around £24,000 a year and can earn £35,000 with 3-4 years' experience
4 GCSEs D-F / or 3-2 (in 2017 GCSEs) Relevant Level 1 qualification with Merit or above Relevant industry experience to Level 1 or above
The course is 20% theory (classroom based) and 80% practical (workshop based), plus a minimum of one week's work experience.
