Overview

NCFE Level 3 diploma for the children's work force (early year's educator) is a competence based qualification. This qualification is based on national standards and is a job ready qualification which requires learners to demonstrate their skills and knowledge required to work in the childcare industry. The competence based qualification must be assessed in the workplace in accordance with the early year's educator qualification and assessment principles.

This qualification is a job ready qualification which requires learners to demonstrate their skills and knowledge required to work in the childcare industry. Suitable for those working in nurseries, nursery schools, primary school reception classes and those registered as childminders and nannies.

What can I earn as an Early Years worker?

When you're deciding what to study post-16, it's important to think about where your course will lead. If you study for a vocational Early Years qualification you'll be starting on a varied career path with plenty of opportunity for progression ? and a good salary in your sights. For example:

Child or Early Years officers start on around £17,000 a year and can earn £24,000 with 3-5 years' experience

Nursery nurses start on around £13,000 a year and can earn £16,000 with 3-5 years' experience

Primary or nursery teachers start on around £27,000 a year and can earn £45,000 with a few years' experience

Entry Requirements

Complete Initial assessment 16 and over. Must have at least three GCSE with A-C including English. Student are also required to have a full enhanced DBS and a childcare placement.

Students will be expected to carry out preparatory reading before each lesson and also complete
