The course will introduce you to the fashion design and the processes it entails to develop new and different range of ideas. You will have the opportunity to understand how trends come about and be able to carry out your own primary research. From this you will create a mood board/s to gain inspiration for style, pattern, colour and texture.
Aims of the course
The course is designed to help you explore your creativity and build on existing skills. The techniques developed will help you to confidently create your own designs. It will be delivered through a mixture practical exercises, tutor demonstrations and individual projects. We will provide you with opportunities that will allow you to explore, develop and test your creativity.
The course includes: Creating a fashion illustration Developing your visual literacy Exploring different media and techniques understanding concepts and ideas Developing your drawing style Exploring colour palettes
You will received tutorials and will be assessed by the tutor.
Successful completion of this course, can lead to our higher level courses.

What can I earn as a fashion designer? When you're deciding what to study post-16, it's important to think about where your course will lead. If you study for a vocational qualification in fashion, you'll be starting on an exciting career path with the potential to earn a good salary ? whether you work for a company or decide to set up as a freelancer. For example: Fashion designers start on around £19,000 a year and can earn £28,000 with 3-5 years' experience Tailors and dressmakers start on around £11,000 and can earn £14,000 with a few years' experience

Our courses include valuable work experience opportunities and the chance to get your work 'out there' in fashion competitions ? and even at London Fashion Week ? preparing you to take your first steps in the industry.
This is a short course in fashion Illustration, you should have an interest in the area but no previous experience is needed.
You will have access to a dedicated fashion studio. However to fully participate in the practical exercises please bring the following to your class: Sketchbook A range of pencils (H, 2H, B, 2B, 4B, 6B), pencil crayons, camera or phone with camera water colour paints or pencils
and any further media you may wish to work with.
