Overview

Students will be awarded a Lewisham Southwark College certificate.

Aims of the course

You will explore some new floristry techniques and designs which could be adapted to any given occasion.

Unit Breakdown

Create a seasonal bouquet and arrangement using a variety of fresh flowers and foliage's to take home and show your family and friends

Assessment Method

Tutor feedback, peer and self-evaluation.

This course is full of fun and flowers! this workshop can be shared with your family, friends or work colleagues to celebrate any occasion whether it is a birthday party, team building activity or a hen party. Our workshop is suitable for all ages over 18 years and at all levels. You will explore some new floristry techniques and designs which could be adapted to any given occasion.

Career Options

Develop your Floristry portfolio and practical skills to a more advanced level on the following courses: Classic Floral Designs for Weddings, Diverse Floral Funeral & Sympathy Course, European styles, Vintage inspired wedding designs and Certificated Level 1 Award Introduction to floristry.

More advanced florists may prefer one of our accredited courses at level 1, 2 or 3

What can I earn as a florist?

When you're deciding what to study post-16, it's important to think about where your course will lead. As a qualified florist you'll be starting on a career path with lots of opportunity for progression, and a good salary in your sights ? whether you decide to work for a company or set up your own business. For example:

Florists start on around £11,000 a year and can earn £15,000 with 3 years' experience

Horticulturalists start on around £14,000 a year and can earn £18,000 with 3 years' experience
