Overview

This course is aimed at learners who wish to pursue a career as an employed or self-employed hair and make-up artist. Through this qualification, you will develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to plan for and deliver make-up applications, hair styling and presentation, fashion and editorial make-up, and face and body painting. You'll also develop your knowledge of relevant anatomy and physiology and health and safety. You will build your ability to ensure consistency in your make-up application and hair services, whilst improving your confidence to produce a total look for competition work. In parallel, you'll improve your communication and customer service skills, your awareness of sustainability issues, and your commercial skills ? all of which are highly valued by employers. Throughout the course there'll be opportunities for problem solving, team working and developing research skills.

You will achieve a qualification accredited by the awarding body VTCT and also add to your CV by gaining certificates from enrichment workshops delivered by external companies popular in the hair and beauty industry. You will also study functional skills or GCSEs in English and maths.
