These daytime and evening part-time IELTS preparation courses are for candidates who need to improve their language skills and develop strategies that will help them achieve the score they need on the IELTS tests. At the end of the course, you will receive college certificate as evidence of your participation on the course. The course fee above does not include the exam fee.
Aims of the course
You will work on the four key skills of the IELTS test: speaking, listening, reading, and writing, as well as supporting skills such as grammar and vocabulary. You will develop techniques and strategies, and do mock tests to help you get the best score you can for IELTS.
You should attend the whole of the course and complete all of the assignments to make the best progress.
Throughout the course, the teacher will provide detailed feedback on the work you produce in class and for homework, and you will do some practice tests.
IELTS is the most widely-recognised certification for university entrance; you can progress to higher education courses and gain professional registration for example for health professionals and architects. You may also use it for fulfilment of visa requirements such as obtaining a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS), and for immigration and emigration.
Good English language skills are a requirement for success in any professional career.
You will need to come into the college for an assessment of your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills with an English language specialist. When you make an online application via our website, we will contact you to arrange an appointment for you.
This is a classroom-based course. Group size is usually sixteen. At Southwark and Lewisham Way there are Learning Centres with materials you can use for independent study and homework.
