This course will introduce you to the Photoshop workspace and tools. You will learn the basic techniques to enhance and retouch your photographs and discover the effects you can use to design digital artworks.
Aims of the course
The course is designed to introduce you to the skills and techniques needed to confidently create digital artwork, alter and enhance images. It will be delivered through a mixture practical exercises, tutor demonstrations and individual projects. We will provide you with opportunities that will allow you to explore, develop and test your creativity.
The course includes:
Using Apple Mac computers
Recognise the Photoshop workspace
Commands and shortcuts
Import digital images, manage Photoshop files and outputs
Identify tools in the Photoshop pallet
Enhance or alter images
Retouching images correcting and retouching tools
Create digital artworks by adding text and shapes
Combining images to create personal artworks
You will received tutorials and will be assessed by the tutor.
Successful completion of this course, can lead to our higher level courses.
Work towards a career in Digital Media
This is a beginner's course in Adobe Photoshop you should have an interest in the area but no previous experience is needed.
You will have access to a dedicated Mac studio. However to fully participate in the practical exercises please bring the following to your class:
Notebook and pen
USB memory stick (minimum 8GB) or mini-hard drive
