This course will introduce you to the Illustrator workspace and tools. You will learn the become familiar with the main graphic design and illustration tools and techniques used to create logos, sketches, typography and illustrations for print, web, interactive projects video and mobile content.
Aims of the course
The course is designed to introduce you to the skills and techniques needed to confidently create digital illustration and graphics. It will be delivered through a mixture practical exercises, tutor demonstrations and individual projects. We will provide you with opportunities that will allow you to explore, develop and test your creativity.
The course includes:
Using Apple Mac computers
Create a range of digital vector artwork
Commands and shortcuts
Work with typography
Create a variety of effects using the appearance panel to enhance your work
Create your own artwork using a range of tools and commands
Combining images to create personal design by using different types of symbols and graphics
You will received tutorials and will be assessed by the tutor.
Successful completion of this course, can lead to our higher level courses.
Work towards a career in Digital Media / Graphic designer
This is a beginner's course in Adobe Illustrator you should have an interest in the area but no previous experience is needed.
You will have access to a dedicated Mac studio. However to fully participate in the practical exercises please bring the following to your class:
Notebook and pen
USB memory stick (minimum 8GB) or mini-hard drive
