This course will introduce the functions of a Digital SLR camera. You will learn how to take better photographs by using the manual mode, shutter speed and understanding aperture.
Aims of the course
The course is designed to introduce you to the skills and techniques needed to confidently create take digital photographs. It will be delivered through a mixture practical exercises, tutor demonstrations and individual projects. We will provide you with opportunities that will allow you to explore, develop and test your creativity.
The course includes:
Using a Digital SLR camera
Expose images correctly
Choose the right settings for particular scenes
Understand how to use the lens focal length
Understand how to use the aperture and shutter speed
Create animated movements and transitions
You will received tutorials and will be assessed by the tutor.
Successful completion of this course, can lead to our higher level courses.
Work towards a career in Digital Media / photographer
This is a beginner's course in Digital Photography, you should have an interest in the area but no previous experience is needed.
You will have access to a dedicated Mac studio. However to fully participate in the practical exercises please bring the following to your class:
Notebook and pen
USB memory stick (minimum 8GB) or mini-hard drive
