Overview
The Course offers a unique opportunity to develop specialist skills while engaging with a broad range of audio practices, thus equipping producers and designers for the complexities of early 21st century sound production. Throughout the course, students are encouraged to develop their individual creativity and capacity to work in a range of collaborative situations.
On successful completion of the course you will be awarded a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Music and Music Technology
Aims of the course
The course is designed to give you a technical understanding of sound design and production using a variety of applications and media through practical projects you will develop your audio production skills. If you have an interest in Sound Design and you want to explore, develop and test your creativity. This course will be stimulating and demanding and provide you with a supportive environment so that you can progress to further whether in education or working within the industry.

Assessment Method
Assessment throughout the course will be formative to support and encourage learning and provide an opportunity for feedback.
Progression Opportunities
On successful completion of the first year, many students progress onto the second year in order to complete an Extended Diploma (equivalent to three A-levels).
Career Options
You can go on to become Assistant Re-Recording Mixers or Assistant Sound Editors and Sound Designers
Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at grades A*-C; one of which must be GCSE English or GCSE Mathematics. Or successful completion of a Level 2 substantial qualification in a related subject - plus an initial assessment that indicates an appropriate level of English and mathematical ability, and a satisfactory reference.
Facilities
Students will have access to state of the art recording studios, workstations and information technology facilities. The course is delivered through classroom sessions and practical projects in studios. We welcome students to work across disciplines within our creative industries department to produce exciting projects
