LSCFA has an outstanding reputation of being one of the best and most successful college academies in London, we have experienced professional football coaches that deliver the highest quality football sessions and development to our learners. Students compete against other academy squads across the South of England and experience the road to becoming a professional footballer. Students have a track record of progressing onto both professional and semi-professional football, as well as university and coaching pathways being also very popular.
This one year sports pathway with high standards and great opportunities is designed to provide you with a good base knowledge covering a wide range of topics in sport. This course is perfect for you if you have a genuine interest in a number of different sports and are considering a career in sport but currently undecided in exactly what you want to do.
This pathway acts as an excellent platform to progress onto a number of different specialisms as you will: Complete a Level 2 Diploma in Sports Complete an additional coaching qualifications in the Level 2 Principles of Coaching (where you will have the opportunity to learn what it takes to become an effective sports coach.) Participate in Industry specific work placements to gain industry experience to prepare you for employment (with a possible opportunity of paid employment)
Completion of these elements will provide you with an excellent foundation to continue you're learning and development to pursue the sports career of your dreams.

Aims of the course
The aim of this course is to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding of sport which will allow you to progress and excel at Level 3.
You complete three core units (or four core units for the certificate or diploma) from a range of units, including: Health, safety and welfare in sport and active leisure Participating in sport Understanding the active leisure and learning sector.
The certificate also requires you to choose a minimum of three optional units (or five optional units for the diploma) from a wide range of units, including: Sport facility operations Injuries in sport Sport as a business Sport and society Working with participants with disabilities in sport and active leisure Event organisation in a sport and leisure environment.
During the duration of this pathway we will use a variety of assessment methods, which include: Completion of written assignments (Word Reports, Posters, Leaflets, Presentations etc?) Short answer question tests Observation and assessment
Level 3 Diploma in Sports
What can I earn in the sports industry? When you're deciding what to study post-16, it's important to think about where your course will lead. If you decide to study for a vocational qualification in sport, you'll be starting on a fun and fulfilling career path with lots of opportunity for progression ? and a good salary in your sights. For example: Sports coaches start on around £15,000 a year and can earn £25,000 with 3-5 years' experience Professional players start on around £12,000 a year and can earn £22,000 with a few years' experience ? but obviously the sky's the limit! Leisure or sports managers start on around £22,000 a year and can earn £35,000 with 3-5 years' experience Fitness instructors start on around £19,000 a year and can earn £29,000 with 3-5 years' experience
