Travel and Tourism students got an amazing opportunity to learn more about the day-to-day work of cabin crew when they took part in an in-depth training day at the Flybe Academy on 1 December.

As part of the training, the 18 students went on a Flybe flight from London City Airport to Exeter Airport, during which they had the chance to talk to the operating cabin and flight crew about their roles. They also spent time in the company’s Training Academy learning all about the skills required to work as cabin crew, including safety procedures and the restrictions crew face on board.

Our students made the most of the day, and really impressed Flybe’s tutors and staff with their smart appearance and proactive attitude – in fact many people at the training centre asked them which airline they flew for!

Tutor Wendy Adams commented: “The Flybe training was well-organised and action packed – a great grounding for our learners. The feedback from the Academy was positive, and I’m very proud of how our learners approached the day, taking the opportunity to pose questions to the experienced crew members they met.”

Student Karolina Cepeleva said: “I really enjoyed the day. It was a very helpful addition to the course that I’m studying – the experience gave me more knowledge of cabin crew roles.”
