Study programmes

Study with us, and you’ll get much more than just a qualification. You will gain skills to prepare you for work or further study.

If you’re between 16-19 years old, you’ll be on a study programme. Our study programme qualifications are at Levels 1, 2 and 3.

WHAT IS A STUDY PROGRAMME?

Study programmes are for all full-time students aged 16-19 in schools and colleges across the country. They’ll make sure that you leave college with the skills to go into work or onto further study. You will finish your course, and gain a qualification and certificate.

WHAT WILL I DO ON A STUDY PROGRAMME AT THE COLLEGE?

As well as completing your qualification, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Enjoy enrichment activities
  • Gain English and maths at the required levels (Grade C and above GCSE)
  • Benefit from tutorial support
  • Develop employability skills
  • Get work experience
  • Get support with job/university applications and interview preparation

HOW CAN A STUDY PROGRAMME HELP ME?

Today’s job market is very busy, and you need to shine against the competition. The way to do this is to have the right skills, with the right experience. This is why all of our study programmes have work experience integrated. You can put into practice what you learn in College in the real world.

We want to get you to where you want to be – whether that be further study, employment or even starting up your own business.

We’re here to help you though your study programme with tutorial support and enrichment activities, but also for CV writing, job applications, university applications and anything else you may need.

WHY DO I HAVE TO DO ENGLISH AND MATHS?

English and maths is needed in every job. If you want to go up the job ladder, you’ll be expected to have a good understanding of these subjects. It’s very difficult to get into management jobs without these qualifications.

If you didn’t get a C grade in English and/or maths GCSE at school, you can re-take whilst studying your chosen subject at College. It does take extra dedication, but it’ll be worth it in the long run. We have expert teachers and all the support you need to get you that important grade.

A STUDY PROGRAMME IS MADE UP OF

VOCATIONAL LEARNING

We believe that hands-on learning can boost your ability with your specialism and confidence in your chosen business. So don’t expect to sit behind a desk and read through textbooks all day.

ENGLISH AND MATHS

A good level of English and maths will mean that you can progress in your career easily. We’ll help you reach those important grades.

WORK EXPERIENCE

All our study programmes include placement or work experience opportunities, enabling you to put your learning to the test, pick up new skills and supplement your current abilities with real-world experience.

MAKING YOU WORK READY

There’s a wide range of enrichment activities and support at the College. These will all help you get ready to apply for your dream job and stand out from the crowd.
