If you dream of a career in the performing arts – whether in the spotlight or behind the scenes – our courses will help you to succeed. Benefiting from our industry-experienced tutors and close links with theatres and theatre companies across London and beyond, a high proportion of our students gain places at prestigious drama schools before finding work in their chosen fields.

Why study Drama at Lewisham Southwark College?

  • We provide a great balance of specialist training and academic support: students on all our courses train daily in contemporary and classical performance, musical theatre, singing and dance techniques
  • There are ample opportunities to work on performances throughout the year both in our own Tressillian Theatre and externally at Greenwich and Lewisham Young Peoples Theatre, The Albany Deptford, Charlton House, The Backstage Centre, ALRA, Cutty Sark, Young Vic and the National Theatre
  • In 2015, 93% of our drama students progressed to higher education – the highest in the sector. Our former students have gained places at Rose Bruford, The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, LAMDA, Mountview, The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and leading universities for drama including Queen Mary University, York University, University of Birmingham and Bristol University
  • Our graduates can be found working in TV on EastEnders and Luther, on the national tour of The Gruffalo and international tour of The Rat Pack, and working with Complicite, in the West End and major regional theatres.
