Logic Pro X is Apple's pro audio and midi sequencing software. It is today's most popular music software and is being used by many musicians, artists, producers and is found in many recording studios. Logic X contains over 40 instruments, which include amazing synthesizers, drum machines, a fully fledged Sampler and many more great sounding devices, all to help you make the best sounding tracks around. This course is based on the Certified Apple Logic Pro X training course and will explore the depths of the LOGIC PRO software.

Unit Breakdown

Exploring the interface and working with real instruments Logic Pro X Setup, navigation. Creating songs using loops Recording and editing audio

Working with virtual instruments Recording Midi, Editing Midi, Produce a virtual Drum track, customising Drum kits, correct timing, Create layered sounds & more

Building a song Edit pitch & time. Make tracks follow the groove of other tracks. Change playback pitch. Create tempo changes. Tune vocal recordings & more

Mixing and automating a song Adjusting levels, pan & volume. Using Amp Designer. Using an EQ plug in. Using Delay & Reverb effects. Automating a mix. Using Dynamics. Mastering and exporting a mix. Create a CD.

Assessment Method

Our modern Music Technology suite has complete music workstations, which include Apple Macintosh Computers, controller keyboards, and Apple Logic Pro X music software. Although there is some theory to learn, most of the work will be practical & hands-on.

Working towards becoming a sound engineer or producer

Entry Requirements

You must have basic knowledge of Mac OS and audio & MIDI terminology if you are unsure about this you may wish to undertake our Introduction to Music technology course.


Working with Apple Mac computers in our studios you will learn how to create music using virtual instruments.

You will not need to buy any course material however, a decent pair of headphones and a USB pen key 4gb (min) would be advantageous.
